This is a strip of wilderness sandwiched between a farm field and a city street and school. It’s too wet to plow, even with the ditch next to the road, so this little place has remained wild. In the spring frogs sing from this wet place and in the summer mosquitoes swarm from here. In the winter it is frozen and an explorer can wander through, though few do.

I have created another new section in my online gallery. The pictures are of the landscape I live in in Southern Minnesota. These pictures are about mans effect on the land and natures effect on the manmade landscape. They are about a place where industry and nature meet. They are about marking change, not only the change of season and light and weather but the inevitable change to come. They are about a place of unknown beauty and a place of slow destruction. This portfolio is titled Roads & Signs: Farmscapes.
I have a mound of images from this series that are as yet unprocessed, so more images will be added over time. It is also an ongoing project, so more images will be added over time.
